“Now we know the problem and can start working on solutions” – Joan Mir

Joan Mir has just experienced two consecutive retirements in MotoGP, against the GP of Catalonia to return to good results. The Team Suzuki Ecstar rider now believes that the cause of the problems affecting him is known to start working on solutions to put in place.

The Spaniard admitted to the press that last weekend’s race was tough and he didn’t want it to happen again, confident that the root of his problem had finally been found:

– Mugello was very difficult and super unexpected. But now, from the outside, it wasn’t so bad: not because of the results, but I think we had a problem that we had in many races – I was always complaining about something – and at Mugello he hit rock bottom. In this part, the team managed to work and figure out what the problem was and it seems that we know it. Now that we know, I think we can start to find solutions because before we didn’t understand. So I think that’s what makes me motivated for this race and confident to get good results. Because last weekend was really tough, I don’t want to repeat weekends like that. I’m glad we have things more or less clear inside the garage.

Refusing to go into detail about the problem that affected him, Mir only admitted that it caused some of his setbacks and mistakes: “I can’t talk about the main problem. The only thing I can say is what I said: in some races I had problems with the front of the bike, I crashed at Le Mans because I lost the ‘before. All these kinds of errors, sometimes my own, sometimes not, were produced because of this problem. So I’m just glad we know more or less, and now we have this weekend and we have this test. I think we are going to start from scratch”.
