Blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa back at the State Theater in Easton – The Morning Call

Blues-rock fireball guitarist Joe Bonamassa is back at the State Theater in Easton, it was announced on Monday.

Bonamassa, 44, was just 12 when he opened for blues legend BB King.

During the pandemic, Bonamassa has focused her efforts on raising funds for her nonprofit Keeping the Blues Alive foundation through the Fueling Musicians program. This relief fund is dedicated to helping touring musicians unable to earn a living due to the closure of concert halls by the coronavirus.

At the 2017 Blues Music Awards, Bonamassa received the BB King Entertainer of the Year award and the Instrumentalist of the Year award for guitar.

In all, he has released 17 solo albums over the past 19 years and received two Grammy nominations for Best Blues Album in 2013 and Best Traditional Blues Album in 2016.

His 2020 solo studio album ‘Royal Tea’ hit the Billboard charts with record numbers, as the blues-rock icon landed his 24th No. 1 album on the Blues Chart – more than any other artist in the world. chart history.
